?What is Sublimation?
Sublimation essentially is the process of embedding ink into the material through heat. The material must be made out of polyester. As the name suggests, sublimation converts solid to gas without the intermediate liquid form. Thus, the sublimation ink is vaporized and released quickly into the material we are printing on.

TIP: One of the things we love about dye sublimating on metal is that the metal itself can be part of the design! Most printers can't print white ink, therefore where you see white in your design it will be transparent, bringing out the silver, gold, sparkle, or other color of the metal. If you do need the sublimation to show a white color or background, plan on using a white-colored metal.
Line up the printout with on your powder coated piece of metal and tape in into place with heat resistant tape.
Place the metal in your press, set the appropriate setting for dye sublimation, and sublimate!

What format do I need to send to Blue Hippo for my custom art piece?
Please submit all artwork/images in the following PC compatible formats: .jpg, .tiff, .psd, .pdf, .ai, or .eps
Please submit final RGB file as a flattened 200 dpi (minimum) JPEG (saved at the highest quality setting)
Any high-resolution Photoshop compatible format will work. (.jpg, .tiff, .psd, .pdf, .ai, or .eps)
We accept most forms of payment including all major credit cards, Venmo, Apple pay, Samsung pay, Google Pay, Pay Pal, Diners Club, JCB, and ELO.
Artwork ships in 3-10 days. Allow 3-7 days for delivery after it ships.
International shipping will be an additional cost.
Custom Items/Monograms are non-refundable. We can not allow the cancellation of an item, as all items are made to order.
Should you experience any issue receiving your order, please reach out to us with a picture of the item and box you received at MetalArt@BlueHippo.com within 10 days of receiving the order. Once 10 days have passed since the receipt of the item, we will no longer issue replacements.
